การณ์

Borrowed from Pali kāraṇa (“case, matter; cause, motive, reason, root; etc”), or from Sanskrit कारण (kāraṇa, “reason; reasoning; action; etc”). Cognate with Modern Khmer ការណ៍ (kaa).

การณ์ • (gaan)

1. (formal, elegant) event, happening, incident, situation; activity, action, act, deed; business, affair, matter, case
   • Mark 13:4, KJV:

     สิ่งไรจะเป็นหมายสำคัญว่าการณ์ทั้งปวงนี้จวนจะสำเร็จ

     sìng rai jà bpen mǎai sǎm-kan wâa gaan táng-bpuuang níi juuan jà sǎm-rèt

     what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
