Etymology

Composed of *ɢojq-owɬ (bile-, gall-bladder) +‎ *-Vŋʷ (adjectival suffix), literally, bile-colored.

Recorded Pumpokol terms point to a metathesized and reduced root, which can also be seen in Imbak Ket kɨalmas, reflecting *qowɬVŋʷ.
