- (obsolete since 1920) A region located in the area between the Jordan river and the Arabian Desert to the east (Transjordan), usually contrasted with Western Palestine (Cisjordan).

- 1912, R[obert] A[lexander] S[tewart] Macalister, A History of Civilization in Palestine[1], Cambridge, Cambridgeshire: Cambridge University Press, page 17:
- Dohnens still abound in various parts of Eastern Palestine, and though few now remain west of the Jordan it is probable that there were formerly as many in the one division of the country as the other.
Usage notes
- After the creation of Mandatory Palestine in 1920, the area east of the Jordan river was no longer considered to be part of Palestine, making the term obsolete.
