-lagati
See also: lagati
Serbo-Croatian
Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Slavic *lagati, iterative of *ložiti. Completely unrelated to làgati (“to lie, to tell a lie”), which derives instead from Proto-Slavic *lъgati (compare Russian -лага́ть (-lagátʹ, combining form of ложи́ть (ložítʹ)) vs. лгать (lgatʹ, “to lie, to tell a lie”)). Some derivatives of -lágati go back to Proto-Slavic, such as nalágati, while others were formed later on by analogy.
