From Russian -ша (-ša), an ending of Russian diminutives of personal names (male and female: Паша (Paša), Саша (Saša), Миша (Miša) etc; formed by analogy with -njo.

1. (informal, endearing) Forms affectionate male diminutives, usually of names, after the first one to five letters of the noun.

   ‎Johano (“John”) + ‎-ĉjo → ‎Joĉjo (“Johnny”)

   ‎Miĥaelo (“Michael”) + ‎-ĉjo → ‎Miĉjo (“Mike”)

   ‎patro (“father”) + ‎-ĉjo → ‎paĉjo (“daddy”)

   ‎Petro (“Peter”) + ‎-ĉjo → ‎Peĉjo (“Pete, Petey”)
