طرفاني
North Levantine Arabic
Etymology
From طَرَف (ṭaraf, “edge, periphery”) + ـَانِي (-āni), a suffix that forms adjectives denoting position. The pronunciation with /tˤi-/ is from the regular shift in many dialects of a to i in pretonic position, especially before a syllable with ا (ā).
