    2. earnest in one's requests or demands; insistent
  2. (of things, especially metonymically) tireless; ceaseless; zealous; assiduous
    λιπαρής χείρliparḗs kheíra zealous hand
  3. (of negative conditions or circumstances) obstinate; stubborn; incessant; slow to pass or subside
    λιπαρής πυρετόςliparḗs puretósa stubborn fever

Usage notes

  • Not to be confused with λῐπᾰρός (lĭpărós, oily; shiny; fatty; sleek), which can be difficult to distinguish in certain inflections and derivations (such as the adverb).
