  1. (logistics) An order picking method where the picker manually retrieves ordered items one by one before shipping. It is usually used in small businesses.

      Concerning the performance of order picking methods (pick-to-order and pick-to-article) it is proven by Hong et al. (Citation2012) that pick-to-article method delivers better results in the V.N.A. shelf-area warehouse, especially from the operational point of view.
