Potentially from -lyalya (to be greedy). Hetherwick translates the verb as "to be smooth-tongued", which could be what the Yao verb is getting at.

Verb

-lyalyasya (infinitive kulyalyasya, perfect -lyalyasisye)

  1. to be two-faced
  2. to be deceitful
  3. to be smooth-tongued
