Etymology
From an earlier regular form *cmbërdhaztë. Same root as mbërdhi, mërdhij, and mërdhas. The alteration of the initial spirant s (neutral) into an affricate t͡s has an expressive meaning. The suffix -azët is analogic after -aza.[1]
