Etymology

Compared to Proto-Athabaskan *tʼe̓ˑš, *tʼeˑtšʼ, *tʼuˑtšʼ (charcoal)[1], Navajo tʼeesh (charcoal, ash), Eyak -tˀuˑčˀ (to be black) and Tlingit tʼoochʼ (charcoal, black).[2]
