Proto-Sino-Tibetan
Reconstruction
See Jacques & Stevens (2024).[1] The similarity of the Tani and Chinese to Proto-Mon-Khmer *lik is well-known. Schuessler and Sun believe the Tani and Chinese are borrowed from Austroasiatic, while Sagart, Jacques et al. believe that Austroasiatic borrowed from Sino-Tibetan.
Noun
*ljeq
Descendants
- Chinese: 豕 (OC *l̥[aj]ʔ (B-S)) (see there for further descendants)
- Proto-Tani: *rjek
