Starostin and Nikolaev are compared with Proto-Nakh *dHaaʁu, Lak кьункьула (qʼunqʼula). Has been compared to Proto-Georgian-Zan *rḳina- (“iron”), Old Armenian երկաթ (erkatʻ, “iron”), երկինք (erkinkʻ, “sky”).
