Etymology
Borrowed from Arabic دَالِيَة (dāliyat), informal construct state of Arabic دَالِيَة (dāliya, “waterwheel, vine, railing, etc.”). Coined by Catalan entomologist, archaeologist and speleologist Joaquín Mateu in 2002.
