Etymology
Blend of Ancient Greek χεῖλος (kheîlos, “lip”) + Selenocosmia. By surface analysis, Ancient Greek χεῖλος (kheîlos, “lip”) + Ancient Greek κόσμος (kósmos, “order, law, the cosmos, etc.”) + -ia. Coined by German arachnologist Günter Schmidt and by German arachnologist Volker von Wirth in 1992.
