Etymology
The suffix -uccio/-uccia, from Vulgar Latin -uc(c)ulus, -(uc)cula, from -(uc)culum, from the Latin diminutive suffix -culus (feminine -cula, neuter -culum).[1] Compare also Sicilian -uzzu, Romanian -uț.
