𐎰𐎠𐎡𐎥𐎼𐎨𐎡𐏁

Old Persian

Etymology

A vṛddhi derivation of the adjective *θigrakah, itself from *θigrah (garlic) + -𐎣 (kaʰ, hypocoristic suffix).[1]

Palatalisation during the derivation of *θigrakah from θāigraciš occurred on same pattern as during the derivations of 𐎠𐎣𐎢𐎳𐎨𐎡𐎹𐎠 (Ākaufaciyā) from *Ākaufakah and of 𐎶𐎨𐎡𐎹𐎠 (Maciyā) from 𐎶𐎣 (Makah).
