手(た)向(む)け • (tamuke) 

1. offering to a god, someone's spirit, etc.

   君(きみ)の成功(せいこう)は亡(な)くなったお父(とう)さんへの良(よ)い手向(たむ)けだ。

   Kimi no seikō wa naku natta otōsan e no yoi tamuke da.

   Your success will be a good offering to the spirit of your deceased father.

2. farewell gift

   Synonyms: 餞別 (senbetsu), はなむけ (hanamuke)

   小野(おの)さんは卒業(そつぎょう)する子(こ)らに手向(たむ)けの言葉(ことば)を送(おく)った。

   Ono-san wa sotsugyō suru kora ni tamuke no kotoba o okutta.
