Etymology

From Proto-Hellenic *wrāhi-, whence also ῥᾶ (rhâ, easily), of undetermined etymology followed by a suffixed *-gʷy-o-s, from Proto-Indo-European *gʷey- (force) (whence also βία (bía, violence, force)).[1]
