Etymology
From Proto-Tai *ʰrwetᴰ (“mushroom”). Cognate with Lao ເຫັດ (het), Northern Thai ᩉᩮᩢ᩠ᨯ, Shan ႁဵပ်း (háep) or ႁႅပ်း (hép), Zhuang raet, Zuojiang Zhuang vid. Compare Proto-Be *hitᴰ².
