Etymology

Compound of ตาก (dtàak, “Tak”, a city in Thailand) +‎ สิน (sǐn, the person's personal name), literally “Sin [of] Tak”. The name comes from the fact that the person's personal name is Tak and the person was once a ruler of Tak.[1]
