Etymology
Supposedly suggested as from Proto-Indo-European *pul- (“hair”) (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?) and cognate with Ancient Greek πυλεών (puleṓn, “wreathe, circlet”) and Irish ulcha (“beard”), however the root shape looks atypical for PIE, and both the Greek and Sanskrit words have been suggested as of substrate origin.
