Inherited from Middle Hindi کانچ (kanc /kā̃c/) (c. 1699)[1] / کاچ (kac /kāc/) (c. 1564),[2] from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀓𑀘𑁆𑀘 (kacca), from Sanskrit काच (kāca).
