  • From Aramaic קצבא / ܩܰܨܳܒܳܐ (qaṣṣābā, butcher). The verb قَصَبَ (qaṣaba, to cut up) and a root ق ص ب (q ṣ b) are from this noun. Cognate with Hebrew קצב (katsáv).
