Etymology
Inherited from Middle Persian 𐭮𐭩𐭭𐭬𐭥𐭫𐭥 (synmwlw /sēn-murw/).[1] According to folk etymology a compound of سی (sī / si, “thirty”) and مرغ (murġ / morġ, “bird”). See also The Speech of the Birds.
