1. a folklore hero (someone who possesses strength and bravery to carry out extraordinary or noble deeds in a work of fiction)

   Невядо́мы асі́лак перамо́г і забі́ў цмо́ка. ― Njevjadómy asílak pjeramóh i zabíw cmóka. ― An unknown hero has defeated and killed the dragon.

     In Minsk a well known local strongman Maciej Ciareška had gained popularity due to his performances at Nižni market: he was showing various weight-lifting stunts and also inviting challengers to wrestle him.

In the domain of fairy tales this is typically a heroic character, whose favourite activity is dragon slaying and other noble deeds. But in the modern context this is more like a circus strongman or just a giant in general.
