алдынғы
Bashkir
Etymology
From [Term?] (“front, located in the front”) (see the cognates below), from [Term?] (“in/from the front; before, ahead of time; first”) (see the cognates below), from Proto-Turkic *āl- (“front”).
Note that [Term?] is a specifically Karluk ablative form; its Kypchak analog is [Term?] (see Bashkir алдан (aldan)). Thus, this entry term is probably a borrowing from Chagatai. The Chagatai form needs to be identified and cited to confirm this hypothesis.
Compare to Southern Altai алдыҥы (aldïŋï, “front”), Uzbek oldingi (“front, foremost; distinguished, outstanding”), Uyghur ئالدىنقى (aldinqi, “front, anterior, foremost”); Uzbek oldin (“before, in front, ahead of time”), Uyghur ئالدىن (aldin, “before, in front, ahead of time”).
