Μηλινόη
Ancient Greek
Etymology
Possibly derived from μήλινος (mḗlinos, “of a quince-yellow color”). The color was supposedly associated with the pallor of illness for the Ancient Greeks, connecting with Melinoe's status as a chthonic figure.
