Michael Houghton (lahir 1949) ialah seorang saintis dari United Kingdom.
Beliau terlibat dalam projek besar menemukan virus Hepatitis C bersama Qui-Lim Choo, George Kuo dan Daniel W. Bradley pada tahun 1989 serta juga genom Hepatitis D pada tahun 1986. Kejayaan beliau dalam penemuan hepatitis C khususnya menemukan meraihnya Hadiah Nobel dalam Fisiologi atau Perubatan pada tahun 2020 bersama Harvey J. Alter dan Charles M. Rice.
